Scam Alert! Suzuki Autoparts Toyama Company- Senior Key Account Associate
A few weeks ago scammers were sending out emails to job seekers offering a Key Account Business Representative position with West Japan Mitsubishi Motor Sales Company. In November 2018 we warned our readers about another job scam here: Lead Billing Assistant- Toyota Motor East Japan!
Now scammers are sending out emails recruiting unsuspecting job seekers for a Senior Key Account Associate with Suzuki Autoparts Toyama Company so Beware! If you do a google search for Suzuki Autoparts Toyama Company you will see Suzuki Autoparts Toyama Mfg Co.,Ltd. appears to be a legitimate company founded in 1988 and located at 3200, Mizushima
Oyabe, 932-0102 Japan and is a manufacturer of motor vehicle parts and accessories. However as was the case with the above mentioned job scam offers with Toyota and Mitsubishi, the people sending out these job offer emails are in no way associated with the legitimate company, they just want us to believe they are.
The Baiting Process
The scammers’ baiting process or method of operation is always the same. It begins with a fishing expedition to get email replies and responses. Note: The domains they are using to send out these emails, globalfinanceauto.com was just registered on 2019-03-25 for 1 year only and japanautotrades.com was just registered on 2019-04-05 for 1 year only as well and neither appears to be registered by anyone connected to Suzuki or any other legitimate company.

These scammers has stolen the business credentials of NUMEROUS legitimate overseas auto part companies, mainly in China and Japan over the last few years, in an attempt to steal THOUSANDS of dollars from unsuspecting job seekers here in the United States.
How Are They Scamming Their Victims Now?
Since the recent class action settlement involving Western Union, the FTC and the thousands of scam victims, many who were tricked into wiring cash overseas to job scammers like these, the scammers are now having to find more creative ways to try and get their hands on your money! In the past these scammers would send their employees checks appearing to come from a customer or client, telling the employee to deposit the check into the employees personal bank account, withdraw the cash and use Western Union or Moneygram to wire the money overseas to their “Managers” who were actually the scammers. Since Western Union has cracked down on suspicious activity, sometimes the scammers would instruct the employee to purchase visa debit or other gift cards with the cash they withdrew and then mail the cards or provide the card numbers to them.
Now scammers are using cryptocurrency and the ease and speed of transferring funds from one anonymous wallet to another with no way to trace who the money went to. As we discovered in the Toyota job scam, the scammers instructed employees to deposit the fake check(s) they received into their bank account, withdraw the cash and then convert the cash into Bitcoin at a Bitcoin ATM in their area then transfer the Bitcoin to the scammers Bitcoin wallet. We suspect it will be no different with the Suzuki Autoparts Toyama Company scam. Don’t Become A Victim of Another Check Fraud Scam!!
What To Do If You Are A Victim
If you have fell victim to an employment scam like this, you need to contact your bank immediately and close your account IF you have provided your account information to the scammers. Next file a police report with your local authorities and then file a complaint with the FBI’s internet crime center at http://www.ic3.gov/
Also if you received any checks that you have not deposited, turn those checks over to the police as well so that the account holder can be contacted. The account holder was likely a victim of a data breach and their bank account details was stolen in the breach.
If you provided your personal information like a W-9 or tax form with your social security # birthdate etc , you need to contact the 3 credit bureaus- TransUnion, Equifax and Experian, and place a fraud alert on your report. These criminals can steal your identity, sell your personal details on the dark web who may try and obtain credit in your name. Doing this will alert you for at least 90 days about any suspicious activity.
In the hands of a thief, just your name, address, Social Security number, bank account details or date of birth, can be used over and over months- even years down the road to:
Open new lines of credit
Write fraudulent checks against your bank account
Seek medical attention
Drain savings and retirement accounts
Provide an alias when arrested
Get a job or file false tax returns
Get Payday Loans in your name
Obtain service agreements for cellular service or utilities
Obtain Government Documents such as a drivers license or passport
And MORE!
That’s why I highly recommend you get some sort of ongoing identity theft protection such as the services offered through companies like LifeLock-Visit Their Website Here or Identity Force-visit their website here! LifeLock and Identity Force are both reputable companies that monitors your accounts and alerts and protects you from identity theft.
