AnyVan Company Package Manager Reshipping Job Scam
Beware jobseekers! A reader sent us a copy of an email with a job offer from someone named Eric Gilbert claiming to represent a business called AnyVan Company and asked us to check it out. What we found out in the course of our investigation just leaves us shaking our heads as to the lengths scammers will go to appear as a legitimate job and employer to unsuspecting job seekers.
1st of all, AnyVan is a moving and transport company located in the UK and has been in business since 2008. Their website which has also been online since 2008, is located at www.anyvan.com. There is nothing anywhere on their website that indicates they do third party package forwarding or employ people to accept packages and reship elsewhere. They hire movers and owner operator transporters and couriers in the UK and surrounding areas. Customers can post moving jobs and transporters place bids on the job.
Below is a screenshot of the anyvan.com website:
What we discovered is that there has been a number of websites registered since Novemeber last year and are all identical “registration” sites for a Work At Home Package Manager position for AnyVan Company. The websites are:
startpackagemanagerjob.com – registered 11/09/16 for 1 year only by someone named Tia Mccray in Philadelphia Pa, email address: kcdoijiapgle(at)dropmail.me
applyforpackagemanagerjob.com – registered 11/09/16 for 1 year only by someone named Saul Hansen in ELKTON, MD, email address: kduerznh(at)10mail.org
applyforpackagemanager.com – registered 11/01/16 for 1 year only by someone named Claudio Quiroz-diez in BOCA RATON FL, using an email address in Russia: quiroz-diez(at)yandex.ru
packagemanagersusa.com – registered 1/20/17 for 1 year only to someone named Dawn Lind in RIVERSIDE CA, email address: lgcjjjzm(at)10mail.org
getpackagemanagerjob.com – registered 11/09/16 for 1 year only to someone named Amber Medlin-anderson in SALLEY NC, email address: kdttkfln(at)10mail.org
UPDATE 8/22/2017– The scammers has registered 4 new domains this month to continue running their Anyvan Reshipping scam!
northstarrecruitments.com – registered anonymously on 8/19/17
thunderrecruitment.com – registered on 8/18/17
newpackagemanager.com – registered on 8/2/17
usapackagemanager.com – also registered on 8/2/17 but is now suspended
Below are the screenshots of the webpages in the process the Package Manager applicant goes through & Note the Duties in the first picture :
You click “Agree” at the bottom of the page and you are taken to this page below where they require the applicant to take a picture holding their Driver License or Passport and upload it.
Then the applicant is taken to the page below to fill out all their details including their paypal account which is how they claim they will pay the employee.
The Recruiting Email

This is clearly a reshipping fraud/package forwarding scam that is in NO WAY associated with the legitimate UK business AnyVan, anyvan.com or anyvancorporate.com! Scammers has stolen the credentials (name, logo) of this business in order to get mules to accept and reship merchandise overseas purchased with stolen credit card information! And since the merchandise is sent to YOUR address, you could be prosecuted for receiving stolen goods and/or credit card fraud! Also notice Eric Gilbert’s email address in his signature eric.gilbert.anyvan@gmail.com. If he was a legitimate representative of the REAL AnyVan Company, he would be using THEIR business email domain @anyvan.com not a free gmail account!
Also Do NOT be fooled by the fake employee reviews on glassdoor from the Remote Package Handler employees, these reviews were obviously placed by the scammers themselves to trick potential victims into believing this is a legitimate position with AnyVan. It’s NOT!
What To Do If You Are A Victim
You can visit the USPIS website here for more details about re-shipping fraud.
If you believe you’re a victim of a re-shipping/forwarding scam, file a complaint with Postal Inspectors online or call Postal Inspectors at 1-877-876-2455 (option 4, Mail Fraud).
If you have fell victim to a money mule employment scam, you need to contact your bank immediately and close your account IF you have provided your account information to the scammers. Next file a police report with your local authorities and also report the scam at http://ic3.gov which is the official site working in conjunction with the FBI to help stop internet crime.
If you provided your personal information like ss # birthdate etc , you need to contact the 3 credit bureaus- TransUnion, Equifax and Experian, and place a fraud alert on your report. These criminals can steal your identity and may try and obtain credit in your name. Doing this will alert you for at least 90 days about any suspicious activity.
In the hands of a thief, just your name, address, Social Security number or date of birth, can be used over and over months- even years down the road to:
Open new lines of credit
Seek medical attention
Drain savings and retirement accounts
Provide an alias when arrested
Get a job or file false tax returns
Get Payday Loans in your name
Obtain service agreements for cellular service or utilities
Obtain Government Documents such as a drivers license or passport
And MORE!
That’s why I highly recommend you get some sort of ongoing identity theft protection such as the services offered through companies like LifeLock-Visit Their Website Here or Identity Force-visit their website here! LifeLock and Identity Force are both reputable companies that monitors your accounts and alerts and protects you from identity theft.
Have you received a suspicious email offering you a “job” with AnyVan or other work at home “ Package Manager” or “Remote Package Handler” job that you never applied for? Feel free to copy and paste the email in the comments so we can help alert and prevent others from becoming victims.
You Can Also Help Us Alert Others By Sharing This Post! And Be Sure To Like Our Page On Facebook!
Disclosure** We get paid a commission when you purchase from LifeLock using one of our links.
I got he same email. Reported and filed a claim against them.
But I still have two packages. What am I supposed to do with them?
You should take them to your local police dept or postal inspector and tell them that you are a victim of a reshipping scam and give them all the details. They will advise you what to do.
I have a email like that, it seems to be a good job from home, but I like to read the reviews before I do anything, thanks for the alerts. If any body knows how to get into a job like that let me know (aliiara@hotmail.com)

Yes they changed websites again! Northstarrecruitments.com was just registered anonymously on 8/19/17 and it goes to their “Anyvan” Package manager registration page for the trial period agreement! If you click “I Agree” it takes you to the page where the “employee” is required to upload an Identification Document that says: “Make a selfie with your face and driver license or passport to confirm your personality. That photo should be in good quality and your documents should be readable. We will keep all your information in safety and use it only for check your background. You could use your camera or even a cell phone to take a picture.”
These are all the same identical pages as we originally reported in the article above. They are just registering new domains to continue on with their reshipping scam. They also recently registered thunderrecruitment.com on 8/18/17, newpackagemanager.com on 8/2/17 and usapackagemanager.com 8/2/17 (which is now suspended).
Here is an email I got. Sounds like the scam described.
